Renewed Grant: More Communities get Better Software.

When you’re taking on some of the world’s most challenging social challenges, you need a strong alliance.

Since 1991, we’ve been working with strong non-profits and local communities to end homelessness. Our work was recently recognized by Tableau Foundation.  They not only renewed our grant, they expanded it.  This will allow us to make an even bigger impact by allowing us to provide software at no cost to our partners working to end homelessness and poverty.

At the 2018 Tableau Conference, the Tableau Foundation announced a $100M commitment to help solve global challenges. CTA is the recipient of some of that funding.

They will be granting $100 million in software, training, and financial support now and the year 2025. The company is pledging to help more people use data to take on some of the world’s toughest challenges including global health, poverty, equality, and climate change.

HOME, CTA’s powerful mobile app, lets caseworkers do outreach in the field, perform assessments and make on the spot recommendations.  We also make it easier for communities to securely collaborate with multiple agencies, getting people the help they need, faster.

CTA taps into Tableau’s software to help communities visualize and analyze their data, among other things. CTA’s Interactive Reporting gives communities real-time dashboard to gather powerful insights from their data.

When you know which services are needed most at any given time,  you can allocate your resources where they’ll have the most impact.  Analyzing data, for example, allowed one community we work with to see that substance abuse relapse prevention services was having a positive impact in helping people stay housed.  This is the type of hard data that funders and policy makers need to see to grant funding approval.

“For the past five years, Tableau Foundation has partnered with leading non-profits, governments, and fellow Tableau Community members to tackle some of the biggest challenges of our time,” said Adam Selipsky, Tableau CEO. “This grant will enable the power of analytics and this community to go further, use data to help solve some of our most complex problems, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in need.”

Thanks to our renewed grant, even more communities can use even stronger data analytics.

When you know more, you can do more.
